Budget 2019 – What do you need to know?

Mr. Paschal Donohoe presented his second Budget to the Dail and to the Irish people as the Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform.

With a view to preparing Ireland for a “disorderly” Brexit at worst, the Budget seeks to boost the resilience of the Irish economy in order to minimise – in so far as is possible – any future disruption brought on by the UK’s departure from the Union. This is why eliminating the budgetary deficit formed a key part of the Government’s policy response.
